What is FrameIntellXplorer?

FrameIntellXplorer is a corpus exploration tool developed within the FrameIntell project, a joint research initiative between Heidelberg University and Medizinische Fakultät Heidelberg. The project investigates how concepts of "intelligence" have evolved across life sciences, psychology, cognitive sciences, and artificial intelligence by combining in-depth paper analysis with large-scale corpus methods.

This tool allows researchers to interactively explore word co-occurrence networks built from PubMed abstracts, revealing how terms associated with intelligence cluster and relate to one another across scientific literature.

The FrameIntell project concluded on 1st April 2026. The platform remains accessible, but active support has ended, only limited assistance can be provided for technical issues. We thank all users for their cooperation and valuable feedback throughout the project.
Data coverage
The corpus covers PubMed abstracts containing the term intellig* published between 1st October 1881 and 16th July 2024. All abstracts were sourced from the PubMed repository and form the basis of the co-occurrence network.
